God wants His Children to obey Him, and He will use whatever means necessary for them to become like Him, including pain and suffering.

The Prophet Habakkuk questions God about the situation that the Kingdom of Judah is facing with the surrounding nations. He questions God. When we pray, we are to be open and honest with God. May we lay our anxieties at the feet of Jesus just as Habakkuk does.

In Psalm 13, David laments to God about some difficult circumstances that he is facing. But at the end, he chooses to trust in God. In the fourth step of Lament, we will learn that we need to trust in God in spite of our circumstances. 

As we finish our study in the book of Malachi, we want to ask, "What is the main theme of this book?" The nation of Israel had forgotten who God is and this led to their disobedience. How is our understanding of God? Do we fear Him? Do we stand in awe of Him?

As we lament, the next process is to ask God boldly to work in our situation. We will look at Psalm 22 to learn from David, who asked God to work in the situation that he was facing. May we boldly approach the throne of God, asking Him to work. 

God continues to prepare his children for the day when the wicked will be separated from the righteous. This day is called the great and glorious day of the Lord. When will this day take place? What will this day look like? Will it be a day of judgment, or a day of rejoicing?  

Do we serve God in vain? The wicked seem to prosper and the righteous seem to be struggling. God responds to Israel's question by telling them that they are to live with eternity in their hearts. One day, God will set the record straight, when he comes again. 

As we continue in learning about Lament, the next step is to bring our complaints to God. How do we do this? Psalm 10 will be our guide as we learn how to respectfully complain to God.

When we experience pain and suffering in our lives, how are we to respond as believers in Jesus. The Psalms teach us this art of Lament, crying out to God in the midst of the pain so that we can find peace. But why is Praying so difficult during those times? Why do we usually give God the silent treatment? 

This passage of scripture is usually pulled out to teach about tithing and how we as followers of Jesus are to tithe more. But when we actually look at this passage and keep it in the historical context, we see God challenging us to test Him to see if He really is a faithful God. How do we do this? By walking in obedience to Him.

As we start the new year, what should we do as followers of Jesus?

When we read the Bible, we need to approach it like a mirror. As we look into the mirror of God's Word are there things in our lives that need to be "fixed"?

We are messengers of the Lord to our community.

God reminds His people that He is the Great King that deserves honor and respect. Are we living our lives with honor and respect for God? Are we bowing our hearts to Him?

The nation of Israel returned from exile. They began rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem. They felt that God had abandoned them because of everything that they have gone through as a nation over the past eighty years. The people are discouraged. But God sends the prophet Malachi to them to remind them just how much He has loved them and continues to love them. Do you doubt God's love for you? 

Why does God answer our prayers "No"? Looking at Scripture God tells us why and how we are to respond. 

How do we know the Bible to be true? What should we do with traditions? These are just a few questions covered during our "Ask the Pastor" Sunday.

How do we make it to the end of our lives with our faith in Jesus still intact?

Hebrews 6:1-12 is probably the most controversial passage of Scripture. But what does this text actually teach? Can a person really lose their salvation?
